Why a swim intensive works

Weekly lessons are great for steady progress, but many adults need a short, focused push to finally break through one specific problem: getting comfortable in the water, learning freestyle, handling deep water, or improving endurance. A weekend intensive gives you concentrated repetitions, immediate correction, and enough coaching time to build momentum instead of starting over every week.

Choose the right intensive for your level
Each intensive is built around a specific starting point and a specific end result, so you are not thrown into a group that is too easy or too advanced.

Beginner Intensive

Start from the beginning and build real comfort, control, and foundational swimming skills in a structured adult-only environment.
  • Best for:

    Adults who are complete beginners, nervous in the water, or still learning how to float, breathe, and move with control.
  • Prerequisite:

    No prerequisite. Complete beginners are welcome.
  • What we work on:

    Water comfort and submersion, floating and balance, kicking and body position, basic breaststroke, and elementary backstroke.
  • Exit skills:

    Perform breaststroke with face in and freestyle kick, elementary backstroke with float support if needed, float in deep water for 5–10 seconds, bob and resurface with more control in deeper water.

Learn Freestyle Intensive

Learn how to connect kicking, body position, and breathing into real freestyle instead of just surviving one length at a time.
  • Best for:

    Adults who already have basic comfort in the water and want to finally learn freestyle with breathing to one side.
  • Prerequisite:

    Streamline kick for 10–15 seconds; Elementary backstroke for 10–15 seconds.
  • What we work on:

    Body line and rotation, freestyle arm timing, side breathing, switching between freestyle and backstroke without panic
  • Exit skills:

    Swim freestyle with one-side breathing for about 1/2- 3/4 of a lap, transition from freestyle to backstroke and back again for about 3/4 to 1 lap

Deep Water Comfort Intensive

Build calm, control, and practical survival skills in deep water so you stop feeling trapped when you lose the wall or the bottom.
  • Best for:

    Adults who can swim some but still panic in deep water, struggle to tread, or avoid deeper sections of the pool.
  • Prerequisite:

    Ability to swim any stroke from shallow to deep end, ability to float briefly in the deep end, ability to bob and resurface in deeper water.
  • What we work on:

    Deep-end floating, treading mechanics, staying calm after jumps or transitions, moving between swimming, floating, and treading without panic.
  • Exit skills:

    Tread water for 30–45 seconds, transition from treading to swimming, transition from swimming to treading, jump into deep water with more control.

Advanced Freestyle Intensive

Refine your freestyle so you can swim longer, breathe better, and hold cleaner technique without falling apart after one lap.
  • Best for:

    Adults who already know freestyle and want more endurance, better breathing control, and a stronger technical foundation.
  • Prerequisite:

    Freestyle with one-side breathing for about 3/4 to 1 lap, ability to transition between freestyle and backstroke for about 3/4 to 1 lap.
  • What we work on:

    Breathing rhythm, bilateral breathing, freestyle efficiency, sighting and maintaining form under fatigue.
  • Exit skills:

    Swim freestyle nonstop for 2–4 laps, perform freestyle sighting, use bilateral freestyle breathing more effectively.
What the weekend looks like
Each intensive follows a clear two-day swimming structure so you get repetition, correction, and real integration instead of random drills.
  • Saturday: technique foundation + skill development.
    You start building the proper swimming skills from the first class, then spend the session building the key movement patterns, drills, and corrections that match your level.
  • Sunday: repetition + integration
    You return to reinforce the same skills, clean up mistakes, and apply what you learned in more complete swimming patterns so progress feels real and usable.
