Job Summary:
We seek a certified and professional Swim Instructor in a diverse and friendly environment to join our team. Our swim instructors teach lessons to adults and kids of all ages and abilities in NY, helping them learn to swim and improve their aquatic abilities.
The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills, loves water safety, and has the zeal to enhance a stress-free, positive learning environment for the students.

Responsibilities:
Swim Instruction
Conduct the swim lesson safely and effectively to individuals or small groups focusing on proper swimming techniques and water safety
Assesment
Assess the swimming abilities of students and adjust instruction as needed for various skill levels and learning styles.
Lesson Planning
Develop lesson plans to cater to individual needs and goals while ensuring the students develop and progress.
Water Safety
Foster water safety measures as well as teaching the students important water safety guidelines and procedures.
Record Keeping
Keep proper records of the student's progress and attendance, and maintain any report of incidents that may arise due to the classes.
Emergency Response
Be able to respond to emergencies around the pool areas regarding first aid and CPR where applicable.
Continuous Learning
Stay updated with the latest swimming techniques, teaching methodologies, and safety measures through regular training and certifications.
Communication
Maintain an open and clear channel of communication with students as well as their respective parents or guardians regarding the achievements made in every lesson, the goals set, and any need for adjustment if necessary.
Requirements:
Student of the sport with a passion for learning more
Lifeguard with CPR and First Aid certification or equivalent
A current Swim Instructor certification recognized by a professional entity (e.g., American Red Cross, YMCA, or equivalent)
Demonstrated previous experience in the swim instructor position is strongly preferred but not essentially required
Exceptional swimming ability with the capacity to execute different strokes of swimming
Great communication skills along with satisfying interpersonal attributes
Should have patience and a zeal for teaching swimming lessons
Strong water safety commitment and desire to create a safe learning environment
Requirements:
Ability to swim and demonstrate swimming strokes to students
Capable of holding and lifting swimming equipment, including kickboards and floating devices
Capable of standing for long hours and working in a pool environment where the temperature might change every hour of the shift
