My name is Austin Sheehan. I live in Queens, NY and I am 23 years old. I just graduated from SUNY Cortland this past May with a degree in Sport Management. I started swimming when I was 5 years old and stopped swimming competitively at 14 after my freshman year of high school diving. After that I became a lifeguard and swim instructor back when I turned 18 and have loved every day of teaching since then.

What swimming means to me?
Swimming for me is being able to enjoy time relaxing and competing with friends and family. After a long day there is nothing better than jumping in a pool and just floating around, swimming a couple laps and letting the body decompress. I want to be able to teach people and show just how relaxing and fun swimming can be. It is a state of peace and relaxation for me and my mind.
